We are located in central texas just north of waco. the aquaponics greenhouse was built to provide fresh food for family and friends year round.. We are just getting started this year with aquaponics. right away, the weakest link with aquaponics is it usually relies on the grid to keep it going. you need electricity to run the pumps that run the system.. The homestead aquaponics system. its fully operational and this spring is getting off to a great start. they are using goldfish to jump start the system.

The off-grid homestead aquaponics system... 40 growbeds set up in four banks of 10 each with each bank tied to a separate fish tank. they use the ebb and flow system with the holding tanks seen elevated above the fish tanks at the end of this photo.. Vertical gardens are excellent for growing fresh plants in tight places. it doesn't matter where you live, aquaponic systems could be sued to grow food anywhere.
